From the streets of Peckham to the shores of Bermuda, Mr. English has carried UK reggae music across oceans. Raised on gospel, ska, rock steady and reggae, his early years were shaped from listening to his dad’s imported records and with sounds like Saxon Studio, Jah Shaka, Viking, Coxsone and other local South East London sound systems before bringing that energy to Bermuda in the mid‑80s. As part of Shogun System, he first cut dubplates with local artists, then with UK and Jamaican legends, shaping a sound that blended UK vibes with island soul.
Over the decades, Mr. English has been more than a selector—he’s been a bridge. From hosting the first iconic clash Between Souljah One & David Rodigan, to introducing Bermuda audiences to UK artists and labels through his radio shows, he’s kept the pulse of UK reggae. Now, with The Full English Show on Irie 98, he continues to serve up a mix of heritage and fresh fire, celebrating the music that has defined his journey and connecting listeners to a global musical story.
